FAQ
1. What is 925 silver?
925 silver refers to sterling silver, which is an alloy of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper. This ratio is used because pure silver is too soft for making durable jewelry. Sterling silver is stamped with '925' to indicate authenticity. All of our jewelry has this stamp.
2. What is rhodium plating?
Rhodium plating is a process of applying a thin layer of rhodium to the surface of a piece of jewelry, usually sterling silver, to protect it from tarnishing and oxidation. Rhodium is a precious metal that has a bright, shiny appearance and forms a protective layer that protects silver from tarnishing and scratching. What many people donβt know is that rhodium is more valuable than gold, both in terms of properties and price. Want to know more about this? Check out our blog: Rhodium in jewelry, more valuable than gold.
3. What is the difference between rhodium and 18k gold plating?
Rhodium and 18k gold each have their own unique properties that make them attractive as a coating for jewelry. Rhodium offers a brilliant, silvery sheen and superior protection against scratches and oxidation, while 18k gold is known for its warm, rich color and timeless look. Although it is also a matter of taste, you could say that rhodium is generally more durable and can retain its shine longer than 18k gold, which can fade over time.
4. What is Zirconia?
Zirconia is a synthetic gemstone made from zirconium dioxide and is often used as an affordable alternative to diamonds in jewelry. At Druzy Drip we use an exclusive and patented 'ice-crushed' zirconia stone.
Our 'ice-crushed' zirconia stone distinguishes itself by its excellent anti-oxidation properties, high light transmission and a high reflection index. This makes our stones shine like the most beautiful you have ever seen. At Druzy Drip we always strive for the highest quality and beauty in our jewelry. Our exclusive zirconia stones are a perfect example of this.
5. How long will the rhodium or gold plating on my jewelry last?
The lifespan of rhodium and gold plating on jewelry can vary depending on several factors, such as the amount of daily wear, exposure to chemicals, skin pH, and the care given to the jewelry. In general, rhodium plating can last longer than gold plating because rhodium is known for its durability and resistance to corrosion. Druzy Drip takes great care and craftsmanship in putting together our jewelry so that you can enjoy it for years to come. We recommend that you handle your jewelry with care and protect it from contact with water, perfume, lotions, and other chemicals to prolong the life of the plating.
6. Will Druzy Drip jewelry turn black?

7. How can I best maintain my silver jewelry with rhodium or gold plating?
Many similar jewelry sellers advertise their jewelry as water and sweat resistant, Druzy Drip is no different. However, to keep your silver jewelry with rhodium or gold plating in optimal condition, we recommend cleaning it regularly with a soft cloth to remove dust and dirt. With every Druzy Drip order you will receive a free polishing cloth, specially designed to polish jewelry without the risk of damage.
Avoid further contact with water, perfume, lotions and other chemicals, as these can affect the plating, resulting in dullness or colour fading for example. Also store your jewellery in a dry and dark place, preferably in the free gift box that you receive with every piece of Druzy Drip jewellery. This way you can keep your jewellery beautiful for as long as possible.
8. Can I wear my jewelry while showering or swimming?
Although Druzy Drip takes great care in selecting the most durable materials for our jewelry, it is best not to wear your jewelry while showering or swimming. Prolonged exposure to water and chemicals can damage the plating and reduce the shine of the jewelry over time. To keep your jewelry looking beautiful for as long as possible, we recommend removing it before showering or swimming.
